Lighthouse Marienleuchte, Isle of Fehmarn
Day 134 of my 365 Photo Challenge.
Today’s photo features the lighthouse Marienleuchte.
The lighthouse serves as a cross and orientation light for navigation in the Fehmarn Belt.
It is located about 1.3 kilometres southeast of the ferry station Puttgarden in the northeast of the island of Fehmarn.
The red-and-white striped reinforced concrete tower took over the functions of the neighbouring clinker brick building from 1831/32 in 1964.
