Vanessa atalanta – Enjoying the autumn sunshine

Day 131 of my 365 Photo Challenge.

I am still staying on the island of Fehmarn. The weather is fantastic and invites you to do nature photography. I visited again the nature reserve „Wallgau“ in the west of the island.

This time I concentrated on insects, where I caught this splendid specimen of an Admiral butterfly, which was busy grazing the autumn plants and flowers.

Fortunately for me, he always took long breaks on the flowers. So I had the time to choose an optimal angle for the shot.

I think I really succeeded with this shot!
