Gonepteryx rhamni
Day 113 of my 365 Photo Challenge.
The sun is shining mercilessly today. Sometimes the thermometer reaches up to 32 degrees Celsius. Actually, a day to stay indoors. Nevertheless, I made my way to the local floodplains to look for butterflies and insects.
I did not have to search for long. The flower meadows were full of butterflies and bees searching the flowers for nectar.
My theme of the day is the lemon butterfly. This specimen is a male, which can be distinguished by its bright yellow colour and the inconspicuous orange spot on each wing.
Once again, my proven 70 – 200 mm F2.8 lens was used. I also refrained from using a tripod, because it would have been too much of a handicap.
Have fun while watching.
