Hypericum androsaemum

Day 114 of my 365 Photo Challenge.

Today’s photo motif is once again a plant. To be more precise, a blood St. John’s wort, which I discovered during a trip to the local floodplains.

What fascinated me most was the contrast between the redbuds and the bright yellow flowers. Although I took this photo in the midday sun, the contrast between the plant and the background was excellent.

But what I like most is the shadow of the flower stems on the petals.
