Remembering my trips along the Northern Coast of Maui, utilising our rental car to ist full offroad capacities! Since I drive a Jeep by myself, I though it would be good to feature it in the right manner!
Memories from the Isle of Maui, on which we stayed for more than 5 days. Such a lovely isle, lots to see and to photograph! So stay tuned in, and watch for future images.
The North Shore of Oahu is known for its giant waves and rough weather conditions! However, it is such a great experiences to feel this stormy conditions by myself!
Saying good by to Oahu and heading for Maui. Stay tuned for another series of images.
Day 139 of my 365 Photo Challenge.
Now it is time to say goodbye to Fehmarn.
My two weeks are now over, and tomorrow I start my journey home to Bavaria.
For the last time, I visited the lighthouse Flügge at the southern beach of Fehmarn.
I was lucky, just as I was about to take the picture, a flock of wild geese passed the lighthouse. This gave the composition that specific something.
You have to be lucky!
Day 137 of my 365 Photo Challenge.
This time, another Sea view of the Isle of Fehmarn.
For this image, I visited the northern coast of Fehmarn. Long and empty beaches were inviting for endless walks.
There, you can feel the flair of the Baltic coastal landscapes, particularly intensively.
I especially liked the in the wind moving grass of the beach, which contributed to the idyllic atmosphere.
Day 135 of my 365 Photo Challenge.
Today was my second last day on the island of Fehmarn, and I paid another visit to the Krummsteert-Sulsdorf Wiek.
This time I photographed the base of the waterfowl reserve, which is located at the beginning of the protected area.
I was most fascinated by the play of clouds and the movements of the high reed, which swayed back and forth in the strong wind.
Day 123 of my 365 Photo Challenge.
This photo emphasizes the beauty of mountain landscapes.
It shows the Murkarspitze (3150m) during sunset.
I came back to my accommodation from a mountain tour lasting several hours and was just about to clean my equipment when I took a look out the window.
Immediately I noticed the reddish glow of the setting sun, which just about illuminated the top of the opposite peak.
I grabbed the camera and ran out to the balcony to capture this moment.
For the photo I used my Nikkor 70-200 mm F2.8.
I was fortunate because the moment lasted only a few minutes, and the glow disappeared.
I hope you like the photo!
Day 118 of my 365 Photo Challenge.
After a rainy night, the weather cleared up in the morning, and nothing more stood in the way of my tour to the Schwarzseekogel (2931 meters). But it must be noted that the weather forecast predicted rain again already at 14:00.
The ascent was via the Giggijoch (2200 meters), the Rotkogel hut (2660 meters) along the Schwarzsee to the summit of the Schwarzkogel.
Unfortunately, I could not reach the summit because of the heavy rain.
Nevertheless, I managed to take pictures of the opposite mountain range during the ascent, which were partly covered by the rain clouds.
A spectacle of a particular kind!
The photo shows Windacher Daunkogel (3330 meters), which was hiding in the clouds, as well as the Wilden Leck (3359 meters) in the left part of the picture. In the right part of the photograph, the Stubaier Wildspitze (3341 meters) rose.
I have to say that today I find it especially difficult to carry the heavy camera equipment in addition to the high mountain equipment.
You just notice that you are getting old slowly!
Day 111 of my 365 Photo Challenge.
Today’s photo was taken in the Nature Park „Thueringer Schiefer gebirge / Obere Saale“.
Taken from a lookout tower, called Saaleturm, it shows Castle Burgk and the river Saale, which meanders through the nature park.
I was fortunate with the weather because it had rained cats and dogs shortly before this picture was taken.
Especially the dark sky with thick clouds adds a particular drama to the picture.
Have fun looking at the photo!
Day 110 of my 365 Photo Challenge.
Today I roamed the woods around the Ködeltalsperre on my photo tour.
The drinking water reservoir Mauthaus – also called Ködeltalsperre – is a dam in Bavaria, which was built between 1968 and 1972 near Nordhalben for the supply of drinking water. As a secondary purpose, it serves flood protection, low water elevation and the generation of electricity from hydropower.
The dam offers a vast range of photo motives of the most different kinds.
It also shows its charm in all seasons.
The picture shows the starter, which is located about 4.5 km before the main dam.
I can only recommend everyone to include this place on one of their next holiday destinations.
Here the link to the website of Nordhalben, which is an ideal starting point for tours around the dam.
